Mars on Earth 2020, Staycation Edition

 

Pour tous ceux qui ont été privés de voyages lointains cette année.

 

For all those who have been deprived of distant journeys this year.

2020, la planète Terre est sous attaque.
Face à un envahisseur venu d’ailleurs,
l’humanité passe une porte.
Qu’en restera-t-il ?2020, planet Earth is under attack.
Faced with an unknown invader,
humanity is experiencing an unprecedented shift.
What will remain of it ?

1. Cette Ombre

 

Planète Terre, 2020.
Une menace s’abat sur la Terre.
D’immenses vaisseaux venus de l’espace s’approchent
et avec eux une Ombre grandit et sème la peur,
la terreur et la douleur.

 

Planet Earth, 2020.
Our planet is under threat.
Enormous spaceships approach, and in their wake a Shadow grows,
sowing the seeds of fear,
terror and pain.

2. En attendant l’Aurore

 

Face à l’invasion de l’Ombre, toute l’humanité se cloître. L’ennemi est sournois et peut attaquer partout et à chaque instant.
L’Interdiction de sortir de chez soi plonge les humains dans la peur, l’isolement, et un immense sentiment d’impuissance. Chacun est face à soi-même. Les villes sont désertées, les familles et les amoureux séparés. C’est la nuit la plus longue de l’histoire qui commence.

 

Faced with the invading Shadow, humanity is forced to shelter in place. The enemy is sneaky and can attack anywhere, anytime.
The lockdown plunges humanity into fear, isolation, and an overwhelming feeling of helplessness. Each person is forced to take a long hard look in the mirror. Cities are deserted, families and lovers separated. The longest night in history has begun.

3. Mars on Earth 2020

 

Au creux cette nuit interminable où l’Ombre a maintenant totalement envahit la planète Terre, quelque chose d’étrange pourtant se produit. Cloîtrée dans son petit appartement, une humaine entend tous les soirs son voisin mettre de la musique et danser. Il est tout seul, chez lui, comme elle. Ils ne se sont jamais rencontrés, mais elle tombe amoureuse de lui. L’entendre danser tous les soirs lui donne de l’espoir.

 

At the heart of the endless night during which the Shadow manages to take over Planet Earth, something strange happens. While holed up in her small apartment, a human woman hears her neighbor put music on and dance nightly. He is all alone, at home, like her. Though she has never met this man, she falls in love with him. Hearing him dance every night has given her hope.

4. Un Nouveau Monde

 

Un matin, le jour se lève enfin. Les Ombres et leurs vaisseaux repartent comme ils sont venus. La lumière semble les avoir chassés. Ils laissent derrière eux une humanité décimée. Les portes des maisons vont pouvoir enfin lentement s’ouvrir. Plus rien ne sera comme avant. Les humains qui ont survécu sont tous unis, ils ont appris durement qui était le véritable ennemi. La lumière du jour ne sera plus jamais prise pour acquise. Un nouveau monde s’est levé.

 

At long last, day breaks. The Shadows and their spaceships disappear as suddenly as they arrived. The light seems to have chased them away. They leave behind a decimated version of humanity. Now the doors of houses and homes will be able to slowly open. Nothing will ever be the same. Humans who have survived are all united, they have learned the hard way who the real enemy was. The light of day will no longer be taken for granted. A new world has dawned.
